Dental Sleep Medicine Words Of Wisdom

Dental Sleep Medicine Words of Wisdom

It takes a village to raise a child. This African proverb is apropos when looking at my new book, TRANSFORM DENTAL SLEEP: The Step-by-Step Guide to Doubling Your Sleep Patients, Increasing Physician Referrals, Simplifying Processes, and Improving Your Life.

I’m not suggesting that this book is as meaningful as a child or that it’s development was as challenging as childbirth. It certainly felt like it at times. Instead, I am asserting that this book is the result of input from many contributors in the Dental Sleep Medicine village.

Their Words of Wisdom (W.O.W.) are inserted throughout the book to drive home key points, add unique perspective, and highlight specific techniques these key opinion leaders use to master DSM in their practices.

Here’s a quick recap of the veritable who’s who (aka WOWsers!) and what they focus on in the book’s pages:

  1. Barry Glassman, DMD, D-ABDSM kicks things off by teaching readers how to learn with an emphasis on evidence-based solutions.
  2. Jason Doucette, DMD, D-ABDSM, D-ASBA centers on the struggle of the juggle when bouncing between restorative and sleep patients.
  3. Kent Smith, DDS, D-ABDSM enumerates the most common obstacles he’s seen in sleep practices and the positive traits necessary to overcome those challenges.
  4. Lesia Tierney provides a step-by-step description of her sleep consults and the verbiage she uses to achieve a case acceptance rate greater than an 80%.
  5. Len Liptak, MBA highlights how he generated a vision for ProSomnus and the steps he’s taken to manifest that vision. These same tenets apply to DSM practices and most other entrepreneurial pursuits.
  6. Max Kerr, DDS, D-ABDSM lays out the 3 Pillars he uses at Sleep Better Austin to grow effectively without compromising patient care.
  7. Erin Elliott, DDS, D-ASBA details the vital role of the sleep champion – who they are, what they do, and the impact they’ve had on her practice.
  1. Jeff Rodgers, DMD, D-ABDSM, D-ASBA shares his experiences with analysis paralysis in his own DSM career and what he did to move beyond those barriers to start executing his way toward a very successful DSM practice.
  2. Randy Curran offers the most common issues he sees among Pristine Medical Billing’s Randy continues to offer proven, workable solutions to these problems so you can get on the path to joining The 100 Club.
  3. Jagdeep Bijwadia, MD, MBA urges dentists to redefine successful treatment and stop viewing DSM as black and white. Medicine is different.
  4. Scott Craig, MBA takes a deep dive into the business metrics his hugely successful offices use to monitor referral stats, collections, and much more.
  5. Steve Carstensen, DDS, D-ABDSM demonstrates an incredible amount of vulnerability as he delves into issues he faced at Premier Sleep Associates and how he pivoted to come back stronger than ever.
  6. Angela Kowaleski is the Physician Liaison for a multi-office DSM practice in Arizona and she goes into meticulous detail about how she engages physician referral sources: from mapping her route to the conversation script and many other invaluable marketing tips, this is wildly useful.
  7. Stacey Layman, DDS, D-ABDSM writes about making the leap from restorative dentistry to a sleep-only practice. She says it should be “The Cheapest Startup Ever” and you don’t have to spend a lot to do a lot. Find out exactly what Dr. Layman says you need to make the Layman Leap and eventually join The 100 Club.

I’m honored and humbled this esteemed roster of experts agreed to share their W.O.W. with readers, several of whom have already contacted me to share how useful the information is. It’s practical. It’s actionable. And it’s all yours when you pick up your copy of Transform Dental Sleep.

Then you can proceed into the village and help raise the next generation of healthy people.
